Biography: 

Professor Jacob Odeh Ehiorobo is a Professor of Applied Geomatics and Environmental Systems Engineering. He received his MSc Surveying Engineering degree from the Moscow State University for Engineering Geodesy, Aerospace Surveys and Cartography, Moscow and a PhD in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Benin.
He joined the University of Benin as Lecturer I in 1991 and rose to the position of Professor in 2014. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (FNIS), member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), Member of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), and Member of the Nigerian Association of Geodesy (NAG). He is also a permanent member of Commission 6 of the International Federation of Surveyors, FIG.
His research focus includes: Environmental Hazard Monitoring and Modelling with emphasis on Flood and Erosion as well as Deformation Survey and Analysis. Others include GNSS Positioning and Navigation, Water Resources Modelling and Integrated Watershed management.
Professor J.O. Ehiorobo has authored over 60 papers in learned journals and chapters in books, and over 100 technical reports covering a wider range of fields including Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Surveys and Construction, Roads and Water Infrastructure, Flood and Erosion as well as Environmental Impact and Post Impact Studies.
He is currently Chairman, Education Committee of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) and Examiner, Surveyors Registration Council of Nigeria. He is an active member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Benin City branch. Professor J.O. Ehiorobo is also currently the Coordinator of the newly established Faculty of Environmental Sciences in the University of Benin and Managing Editor, Journal of Civil and Environmental Systems Engineering.
Professor J. O. Ehiorobo is a recipient of several awards including the Distinguished Leadership in National Development Gold Award by Corporate and Media Africa communications Limited, Meritorious Service Award by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, etc.
