Professor Michael Aziken


Prof Michael Emefiele AZIKEN, graduated from university of Ibadan with an MBBS degree in 1986.He had his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in University of Benin Teaching Hospital between 1991 to 1997. He became a fellow of the West African postgraduate college of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1997 (FWCOG) and a fellow of the National Post graduate college of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FMCOG, Nigeria) in 2004, Both by examination. From 2008-2012 had several post fellowship training within and outside the country in areas Obstetrics and Gynaecology ultrasonography, assisted reproduction technique and minimal access surgery.
Professor Aziken joined the services of the University of Benin in 1997 as Lecturer 1 and rose through the ranks and was promoted professor in 2010.
He is a specialist in infertility management and assisted reproduction technique with over 50 publications in local and international peer reviewed journals journals. He has attended several conferences within and outside the country where he also presented papers in his area of specialty.
Professor Aziken has also held many positions within the university. He was head of department of obstetrics and gynaecology between 2010-2012 and 2015-2016, He also served as the admission representative for School of Medicine at the University admission board and served in various committees.
